Cleaning Concrete

Cleaning Concrete Here are tips for cleaning concrete. You can do indoor and outdoor cleaning services in your house cleaning business. Think big!

As a professional home cleaner, you may find yourself with a client that is in need of outdoor concrete cleaning. Offering these services is a great way to expand your client list and menu of house cleaning services, and it requires very little extra investment from you. With just a few simple tools, you will be able to offer outdoor concrete cleaning, and make your clients very happy.

Cleaning Concrete -- Tools and Cleaning Agents

The easiest way to clean outdoor concrete is with a power washer or pressure washer, and a cleaning agent. You can purchase a pressure washer rather inexpensively, and it can be used for a number of cleaning jobs, from cleaning concrete to cleaning a customer's vinyl siding on their home. You will not need to purchase an extremely high powered pressure washer, a simple pressure washer designed for home use will do.

You will also need to have a number of different cleaning agents on hand, so that you can easily remove any stains that the client may have on their concrete. For general cleaning of dirt and debris, plain water can be used. This is not only the easiest and most cost effective method, but also the most environmentally friendly.

If the concrete has graffiti, rust, or grease and oil stains, you will need to use special cleaning agent to remove the stains. For grease and oil stains, you will need to stock an alkaline degreaser in your cleaning supply to sufficiently remove the stain. For graffiti, you will need some type of chemical stripper to effectively remove the pain. and for rust stains, a cleanser that contains oxalic acid will help to penetrate the concrete and remove the stain.

It is important that you are completely knowledgeable of the chemicals that you are using to clean the outdoor concrete. In some locations, certain chemicals may be prohibited and can result in a hefty fine if they are used.

It is best to try and find a cleansing agent that will not only get the job done, but is also biodegradable and environmentally friendly, so you do not have to worry about water runoff while cleaning.

Before power washing the client's outdoor concrete, make sure and perform a throughout evaluation and consultation with the client. If there are plants or special landscaping around the concrete, you should make sure whether the client understands that these areas will get wet.

Ask if they need to be covered. This will help to ensure that there are no unexpected surprises and that you are providing the job exactly to the client's needs and demands.
