With dryer use, the vents and lint traps accumulate lint from the clothing and other items being dried. Lint build up can impair the efficiency of the dryer.

Another problem is that environment in the dryer vent and hose is hot and moist, and air moving through the lint trap and dryer vent hose can carry out mold spores which can grow in the vent hose between uses.

Additionally, if a dryer catches fire, it's often because of lint build up near the motor, heating element, or ignition (in the gas of a gas dryer).

Vacuum behind the machines. Damp wipe the outsides of them. Get behind the machines and vacuum and damp wipe the area of the dryer around the motor. Clear the vent from the outside of the house as well, if this area is accessible.

Some dryer vent hoses are made of thin plastic, so be very careful not to puncture the hose. If you do, it needs to be replaced.

Reassemble the hose onto the dryer, and arrange the machines back in place as they were.

Note: if you're unable to move the machines, or if you're not comfortable moving them DON'T. Washing machines are heavy, and you can injure yourself trying to move them.
